Product Description

Chloroquine phosphate, also known as N',N'-diethyl-N4-(7-chloro-4-quinolinyl)-1,4-pentanediamine diphosphate, is used for the treatment of chloroquine-sensitive falciparum malaria, Malaria such as vivax malaria. It can also be used for the treatment of extraintestinal amebiasis, as well as anti-rheumatic effects.
Limited to malaria such as falciparum malaria and vivax malaria that are sensitive to this drug (the drug-resistant strains appear widely at home and abroad), it is also used for the treatment of parenteral amoebiasis, and has anti-rheumatic effects.
Function of chloroquine phosphate

Application of chloroquine phosphate
Although the mechanism of action is not fully understood, chloroquine is shown to inhibit the parasitic enzyme heme polymerase that converts the toxic heme into non-toxic hemazoin, thereby resulting in the accumulation of toxic heme within the parasite.  Chloroquine may also interfere with the biosynthesis of nucleic acids.
