Product Description

Methoxsarin, also known as xanthotoxin, methoxy psoralen, 8-methoxy psoralen, is an odorless white to creamy crystalline solid chemical with a bitter taste. Chemical name 8-methoxy-furanocoumarin, molecular formula is C12H8O4, molecular weight is 216.19000, melting point 148~150ºC. Methicillin is an anti-infective drug for skin, mainly used in clinical treatment of vitiligo, psoriasis (psoriasis). Two hours after taking the medicine with sun or black light exposure, at least 2-3 times a week (at least 48 hours apart). 

The drug is a photosensitizer, which can be activated by UVA with a wavelength of 320 ~ 400nm after binding with epidermal cells, and the maximum wavelength is 365nm. Under the action of UVA, photochemical reaction occurs with thymine on DNA of epidermal cells to form light adduct and produce phototoxic reaction, which inhibits DNA synthesis and mitosis of epidermal cells, thus slowing down the renewal rate of epidermal cells and playing a role in the treatment of psoriasis. As a result of the photosensitivity reaction, the activity of tyrosinase in melanocytes increases, prompting melanocytes to form and move towards the epidermis, thus causing pigmentation on the skin.
