Collagen is a type of collagen. Collagen and elastic fibers are made by Fibroblasts in the dermis. As the cells shrink and their metabolism decreases over time, they produce less collagen and elastic fibers. Over time, the sun's rays cause the fiber cells to become irregular and enlarged, producing unhealthy collagen.
