Collagen is a type of collagen. Collagen and elastic fibers are made by Fibroblasts in the dermis. As the cells shrink and their metabolism decreases over time, they produce less collagen and elastic fibers. Over time, the sun's rays cause the fiber cells to become irregular and enlarged, producing unhealthy collagen. The sun also directly destroys the elastic fibers, which form bundles of slightly curved fibers that are arranged at right angles to one another and the next, which gives the skin a firming effect. However, as the years grow, not only the number of collagen decreases, but also the arrangement becomes irregular, and the dermis becomes thinner.
