Sodium cholate is a white powder; Fresh bile odor, taste sweet after bitter.
Bile acid is the general name of a class of cholanic acids present in bile, which is a white powder, odorless, bitter, and its alkali metal salts are easily soluble in water and alcohol. Natural bile acids are usually bound to glycine or taurine by peptide bonds and to sodium and potassium ions to form bile acids present in bile.
The bile acids in normal bile can be divided into two categories according to their structure: one is free bile acids, including cholic acid, deoxycholic acid, goosenodeoxycholic acid and a small amount of lithocholic acid; The other is the product of the above free bile acid combined with glycine or taurine, called conjugated bile acid. It mainly includes glycinocholic acid, glycinocholic acid, taurocholic acid and taurocholic acid.
It can be used for biochemical research; Preparation of bacterial medium; Used to reduce inflammation; Non-denaturing detergent is used to extract membrane proteins.
