Chamomile extract is a dried whole grass extract of chamomile in the asteraceae family. It mainly contains flavonoids, saponins, polysaccharides, volatile oils and other active ingredients. It has anti-inflammatory, fungal inhibition and spasmodic effects. Because of its various medicinal effects, it has been used as a medicinal cosmetic ingredient, and ointments, creams and lotions containing chamomile volatile oil are used in Europe to treat various skin diseases.
Function
1. Antispasmolysis
Chamomile decoction can inhibit the contraction of isolated intestinal tube of rabbit and isolated bronchus of guinea pig, and reduce tracheal secretions. Apigenin and aglycone of chamomile extract have moderate antispasmolysis effect on smooth muscle.
2. Anti-inflammatory effect
Lanxiang oil has antibacterial effect, and chamomile volatile oil also has certain bactericidal effect.
3. Chamomile extract
It can promote the healing of mouse ulcer and enhance the function of reticuloendothelial system.
4. Chamomile extract
can significantly reduce blood pressure and blood lipid after feeding rats for 4 weeks. The effect of chamomile extract on blood pressure and blood lipid is related to the large amount of flavonoids contained in the water-soluble extract of chamomile.
5. Antibacterial action
The inhibitory effect of chamomile on bacteria is mainly due to the flavonoids contained in its extract, and many other plants containing flavonoids also have antibacterial effects.
