Rhizome of Ligusticum chuanxiong in umbelliferae family. In summer, when the nodule on the stem is prominent and slightly purple, dig, remove sediment, dry the kang after drying, and then remove the root.
Pharmacological action: activating blood and qi, expelling wind and relieving pain. Used for irregular menstruation, amenorrhea dysmenorrhea, abdominal pain, thorax and hypochondriac tingling pain, swelling pain, headache, rheumatism and arthralgia pain.
