Natamycin, also know as pimarcin or tennecetin, is produced by steptomyces sp. and purified by modern fermentation process.
Natacycin inhibits not only the growth of various moulds and yeasts, it also inhibits these mold' toxins. It can extend the shelf life of cheese, backed food, meat, beverage, etc.
Applied on foods surface by spraying or dipping.
Application:
Natamycin50% in lactose mainly used in dairy products, cheese, etc

Natamycin50% in sodium chloride mainly used in meat product, etc
The solubility of natamycin is very low in water and in most organicsolvents. Only 50mg natamycin can be dissolved in pure water at roomtemperature. The low solubility makes it very suitable for use on the surfaceof food. Natamycin is used in the food industry as a preservative. Natamycincan greatly extend the shelf-life of cheese, baked food, meat and beverageproducts.
