Function
Methyl Salicylate has a limited and strong smell similar to wintergreen. When used as a fragrance, it is often used as a perfumer in pharmaceutical preparations, such as mistletree and other spices. It is also used in general flavors, such as mistletree and other mouth medicines, such as chewing gum and mouthwash. Methyl salicylate Chemicalbook is also used as a solvent and intermediate in the manufacture of insecticides, fungicides, fragrances, coatings, cosmetic inks and fiber dyes. Methyl salicylate reactsform salicylamide, which is used in the production of antipyretic painkiller ethyl salicylamine, and salicylamide itself is also an antipyretic analgesic.
Methyl Salicylate is used as a spice for food, toothpaste, and cosmetics, as well as for painkillers, insecticides, polishes, inks, etc.
