CVitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that can accumulate in fat tissue and become toxic when taken in excess. The average adult has regular exposure to sunlight and is not deficient in vitamin D. Vitamin D is mainly D3 and D2. The former is formed by ultraviolet radiation of 7-dehydrocholesterol under the human skin, and the latter is formed by ultraviolet radiation of ergosterol contained in plants or yeast. Vitamin D is a cyclopentane polyhydrophanthrene compound, which is mainly used to promote the absorption of calcium and phosphorus by intestinal mucosa cells, promote the renewal of calcium salt and the formation of new bone, promote the reabsorption of calcium and phosphorus by renal tubule cells, promote the growth of skin cells, and regulate immune function. Lack of vitamin D can cause rickets, osteomalacia. |
