Broccoli is a vegetable of Cruciferae; Genus: Brassica. Official Latin Name: Brassica oleracea var. Italica. Compounds of glucosinolate group and, contained in fresh broccoli, stimulate detoxicating cell enzymes to intensified activity, thus ensuring the normal function of the cell.
The investigations have shown the disappearance of glucosinolates through ageing of the gathered broccoli.
Its high content of calcium and vitamin K which ensure regular and complete development of the bone mass (calcium) and its strength (vitamin K). For the same reason BROCCOLI EXTRACT is recommended for all age groups suffering from ostheoporosis (loss of bone mass).
It can prevent the damage from ultraviolet light that often leads to skin cancer.
Broccoli is used to treat eye inflammations and near-sightedness; Anemia (the blood is deficient in red blood cells); Children's respiratory infections, measles and gastroenteritis (inflammation of the lining membrane of the stomach and the intestines); Smoking; And cancer.
Broccoli is believed to play a role in protecting against cancers of the lung, stomach, mouth, ovaries, breast, cervix, colon, and prostate. It is rich in several potential anticancer substances such as indoles, glucosinolates, beta carotene, and vitamin C.
