Product Description

     L-methionine, also known as L-methionine, is the L-form of methionine, the chemical formula is C5H11NO2S, and the chemical properties are colorless or white shiny flake crystals or white crystalline powder, with a special smell and slightly bitter taste. Melting point is 280~281ºC. It is unstable to strong acid and can cause demethylation. Dissolved in water (5.6g/100mL, 30ºC), warm dilute ethanol, alkaline solution or dilute inorganic acid. Hardly soluble in ethanol, almost insoluble in ether. Toxicity: LD50 29mmol/kg (rat, intraperitoneal injection).
 
L-methionine (Abbreviated Met) is one of the 18 common amino acids, and one of the eight essential amino acids at the animal and human body. It is mainly used as feed additives in fish, chickens, pigs and cows meal in order to keep animal and fowl growing healthily. It can improve the milk secretion of cows, prevent the occurrence of hepatosis.
