Terpineol is used to prepare flavors, and is also used in medicine, pesticides, plastics, soap, and ink industries. It is also a solvent for colors on glassware.Terpineol is a naturally occurring monoterpene alcohol. This is one of the bulk spices, produced more than thousand tons every year for wide use as flavoring agent and in personal care products such as soaps and synthetic detergents.
A Monoterpenol that is a major component of pine oils but also present in smaller quantities in other essential oils.Terpineol is antibacterial and antiviral, an immune system stimulant, a good general tonic. In Essential Oils it is warming and uplifting.
Terpineol has a citrusy, lime aroma with hints of lilac and apple blossom. Isolated Terpineol can be naturally sourced from pine (Pinus), cajuput (Melaleuca cajuputi), and petitgrain (Citrus aurantium).Terpineol is most often used therapeutically to help manage pain and inflammation, and to reduce the frequency of seizures. Other medicinal values of Terpineol include gastroprotection and promotion of antibacterial activities. Inhalation of Terpineol may lead to a deep sedation.
