Resveratrol is a non-flavonoid polyphenolic organic compound found in a variety of plant species, such as peanuts, berries, and grapes, most commonly found in the roots of Polygonum cuspidatum.Resveratrol is tasteless, insoluble in water, and easily soluble in organic solvents such as ether, chloroform, methanol, ethanol, acetone, ethyl acetate, etc. The melting point is 253-255°C, and thesublimation temperature is 261'C. it can be red with alkaline solutions such as ammonia. and canhave a color reaction with ferric chloride-potassium ferricvanide. Resveratrol can be identified byusing this property.
Resveratrol can activate acetylase and increase thelifespan of yeast. The experimental results show thatyeast cells divide from 19 times to 38 times, and thelifespan increases by 60-80%
