Product Description

Beta-carotene is the molecule that makes carrots appear orange. It is found in many fruits and vegetables and some animal products, such as egg yolks. Beta-carotene is also the most important vitamin A precursor and has antioxidant properties.
Beta-carotene is also called provitamin, because it can be converted into vitamin A after being oxidized and cleaved by β-carotene 15, 150 dioxygenase in our body. In plants, β-carotene acts as an antioxidant and neutralizes singlet oxygen free radicals formed during photosynthesis.

The carrot (Daucus carota var. sativa Hoffm.) is an annual or biennial herb, which is a variety of wild carrot in the genus Caracaria in the umbelliferous family. The roots are stout, long conical, orange-red or yellow.
