Podophyllum is an herbaceous perennial plant with common names mayapple, American mandrake, wild mandrake, and ground lemon, widespread across most of the eastern United States and southeastern Canada. It has been used by Native Americans as an emetic (vomit-inducing), cathartic (defecation-accelerating), and antihelmintic (anti-parasitic) agent. Podophyllotoxin (abbreviated as PPT), otherwise known as podofilox, is a toxin lignan extracted from podophyllum roots and rhizomes, widely applied as a topical good forment of good for genital warts.
The main effects of Astragalus Extract include tonifying blood and nourishing qi, fixing the root and stopping sweating, which is suitable for symptoms such as qi deficiency and blood loss, surface deficiency and spontaneous sweating, and limb weakness. Its ingredients are mainly astragalus polysaccharide and astragalus essence, but due to the difference in extraction process, the specific efficacy is difficult to determine.
